Mr Muhammad Fikri Bin Mohamad Rawi, aged 55, is a graduate of Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo USA where he obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in Finance and Economics as well as a Diploma in Investment Analysis graduate from MARA Institute of Technology, Selangor, Malaysia. Mr Fikri also holds the Certificate of Islamic Finance Expert from Academy for International Modern Studies, United Kingdom.
Mr Fikri began his career in the banking sector back in 1993 at Bank of Commerce (M) Berhad (now known as CIMB Bank Berhad and one of Malaysia’s leading financial groups). He then joined Commerce Asset-Holding Berhad (now known as CIMB Group Holdings Berhad) as Manager of Finance and Administration in 1995 and subsequently moved up the ranks to his last position of SVP, Planning & Risk Management. His areas of exposure include Banking, Capital Management, Risk Management, Finance and Insurance.
Mr Fikri’s exposure to the various aspects of the business has also enabled him to play an instrumental role during the setting up of the Commerce International Group Berhad (CIGB), a subsidiary of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad. He was subsequently appointed the Chief Operating Officer and later Chief Executive Officer at Commerce Life Assurance Berhad (now known as Sun Life Malaysia Assurance Berhad), when it was a subsidiary of CIGB.
In 2007, the successful joint venture between CIMB Group and Aviva Plc led to the formation of CIMB Aviva Assurance Berhad and CIMB Aviva Takaful Berhad where Mr. Fikri assumed the position of Director of Business Development. He was later appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Aviva Takaful Berhad in November 2008 (now known as Sun Life Malaysia Takaful Berhad following an M & A exercise which was completed in March 2013).
Mr Fikri is a Registered Financial Planner (RFP) since 2006 and was elected MFPC National Council Member in 2009 and is a Management Committee Member of Malaysian Takaful Association Berhad (MTA) since 2009. In December 2016 Mr Fikri was appointed as Chairman of MTA. He is also MTA’s representative on wider financial sector collaborations that include Board member of IBFIM, ISM and FINCO.
On 10th November, 2018 he was conferred a Fellowship from Malaysian Insurance Institute, carrying the designation “Fellow Malaysian Insurance Institute”. He is member of Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance since 2016, carrying the designation “Fellow Chartered Professional in Islamic Finance (FCPIF)” since March 2019. In April 2019, he was registered as Fellow Member with Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC).
AIA Public Takaful Bhd
Encik Elmie Aman Najas is the Chief Executive Officer of AIA PUBLIC Takaful Berhad. His key responsibility is to develop the Family Takaful business, drive product innovation and increase the Takaful penetration rate in the Bumi segment by leveraging on AIA and Public Bank Berhad’s leadership positions and established infrastructure and distribution networks.
He has been in this role since 2015 and has over 20 years of industry experience in Takaful and Insurance. Elmie is currently the Deputy Chairman of Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA). Additionally, Elmie sits on the Board of Insurance Services Malaysia (ISM), Islamic Banking Finance Institute (IBFIM) and is on the Grand Council of the Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance (CIIF).
Etiqa Family Takaful Berhad
En Zafri Ab Halim has been the Chief Executive Officer of Etiqa Family Takaful Berhad since September 2017. He holds a Master of Science in Project Management from George Washington University, USA, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from Universiti Pertanian Malaysia. He is a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountant and a certified Chartered Accountant.
En Zafri is currently a Grand Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance (CIIF). He also sits on the Management Committee of Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) as Treasurer of the association and has held this portfolio since 2013. He was recently appointed as Member of Standing Committee of the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (Representative of MTA).
En Zafri started his distinguished career with Malaysia National Insurance Bhd. He then led the Finance & Corporate services division of Bank AlJazira, Saudi Arabia. Upon returning to Malaysia, he was appointed as Chief Financial Officer and thereafter Chief Executive Officer of Great Eastern Takaful Berhad. In September 2017, he assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer of Etiqa Family Takaful Berhad until now.

Great Eastern Takaful Berhad
As Chief Executive Officer of Great Eastern Takaful Berhad since January 2018, Shahrul is responsible for the decision-making and implementation of corporate and sales strategies that drive market share and overall growth for the company.
He has accumulated a wealth of experience working in the banking & insurance sector over the last 20 years and his expertise includes sales & marketing, asset & fund management as well as mortgage sales. He is also particularly skilled in developing multi-channel capabilities in both local and international financial markets.
Prior to joining Great Eastern Takaful Berhad, he was responsible for managing and leading sales and distribution channels across all business lines as Chief Distribution Officer at Prudential BSN Takaful. His role here included developing strategic partnerships and implementing proper standards and procedures in Sales Quality, Sales Support, Recruitment and Training.
Shahrul joined Prudential Fund Management Malaysia in 2008 and in June 2010, entrusted with the role of Chief Executive Officer (designate), where he spearheaded Prudential’s expansion into new markets. He was also instrumental in transferring overall funds from Singapore to Indonesia.
He started his career in Citibank Berhad as a Mortgage Officer in 1999 and went on to join OCBC Bank Bhd as its Regional Sales Manager (AVP) in 2004. He then joined Standard Chartered Bank Berhad as the National Head of Sales Channel Management in 2005.
Shahrul holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wichita State University, USA with a major in Management. He was in the Dean’s Honour Roll list and graduated with a ‘Cum Laude’ (Distinction).
He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals and Chairman of the Corporate Communication sub-committee of the esteemed Malaysian Takaful Association.
Hong Leong MSIG Takaful Berhad
Mohd Asri Omar is the Chief Executive Officer of Hong Leong MSIG Takaful Berhad since January 2018. He is accountable to drive and execute the company’s transformation strategies to ensure efficient operations of the company’s business to achieve sustainable and profitable growth.
He graduated from the International Islamic University Malaysia with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Bachelor of Shariah (LLB(S)) degrees. He also holds an MBA in Insurance & Financial Services from the Graduate School of Management and is a Fellowship of the Malaysian Insurance Institute (FMII) graduate.
Mohd Asri Omar has over 20 years of experience in both the Takaful and insurance industries. He started his career in MNI Takaful Berhad (now Etiqa Takaful Berhad) in 1998. Subsequently, he held senior management positions in several leading insurers and takaful operators covering key functions including business strategy and planning, operations, legal, Shariah, risk management & compliance. He is also experienced in the start-up of business, merger and acquisition as well as single license exercises involving leading takaful operators.

Mr. Mohammad Nizam Yahya joined Malaysian Reinsurance Berhad (MRE) on 1 November 2018 as Senior Vice President and Head of Malaysian Re Retakaful Division (MRRD). Nizam brought with him over 25 years of experience in family takaful and life insurance business, having spent his entire career in several insurance / reinsurance companies as well as takaful / retakaful operators covering areas of actuarial services, product development and pricing as well as marketing management. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from University of Kent at Canterbury, UK in 1993.

Marcel Omar Papp is the principal officer of Swiss Re Kuala Lumpur branch since August 2018, overseeing both the conventional and Retakaful operations of Swiss Re in Malaysia.
He came to Swiss Re Kuala Lumpur branch in February 2009 with the responsibility to set up and head the Retakaful operations, which has since become the global centre for Swiss Re's Family and General Retakaful business leading the development of the firm's Islamic Reinsurance business, products and processes worldwide.
Under his leadership, Swiss Re Retakaful has become a market leader in South East Asia and has won several 'Best Retakaful operation' awards.
Prior to moving to Malaysia, Marcel Omar was based in Hong Kong and Singapore for ten years in various underwriting roles, including head of the Casualty Treaty Desk and Product Manager Casualty for Asia.
He started his career in insurance more than 25 years ago as a claims broker in the London market working for Willis. He then moved to Union Re (Zurich) working in Client Market and Underwriting functions before joining Swiss Re in 1998.
Marcel Omar holds a Masters of Arts (Business Administration) from the University of Zurich (Switzerland) and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (A.C.I.I.) of London.

Graduated with an Associateship of Chartered Insurance Institute from The Chartered Insurance Institute, United Kingdom and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Glasgow, Scotland. He is a Chartered Insurer and has over 20 years of experience in general insurance underwriting and other various fields in the insurance industry of which he spent 19 years with a leading subsidiary of a public listed company.
Prior to his current appointment, he served Lonpac Insurance Bhd as the General Manager of Underwriting Division.
He joined Takaful Ikhlas Berhad on 1 April 2016 as the Senior Vice President & Chief Business Operations Officer – General. On 30 November 2018, he has been appointed as the President & CEO of Takaful Ikhlas General Berhad.

Wan Saifulrizal Wan Ismail is a qualified actuary with 17 years experience in the takaful and insurance industry with the regulator, insurance consulting company and direct life insurer. In his current role as the Chief Executive Officer, Wan Saifulrizal has the overall responsibility for driving the takaful business and overseeing the performance for Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad.
As Chief Marketing Officer of PruBSN (September 2017 - December 2019), Wan Saifulrizal oversees the company’s entire marketing and communications initiatives, and led product development efforts which gave birth to award-winning flagship products, PruBSN WarisanPlus and PruBSN AnugerahPlus. Wan Saifulrizal spearheaded the company’s regulatory compliance efforts for LIFE Framework and Reform Agenda. He further shapes the strategy behind the substantial user growth of Pulse by Prudential app, the first AI-powered health app of its kind in the region. Wan Saifulrizal is also the advisor for PruBSN’s charitable arm, PruBSN Prihatin, where he has ensured the successful implementation of PruBSN Microtakaful Jariyah programme.
Wan Saifulrizal joined Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad in July 2015 as the Chief Strategy Officer to lead various strategic initiatives within the company including preparation for LIFE Framework, General Insurance strategy and implementation of new bancassurance model for one of the bancassurance partner.
Prior to joining PAMB (from September 2011 to June 2015), Wan Saifulrizal was with Towers Watson to set up and grow the firm’s insurance consulting practice in Malaysia.
Wan Saifulrizal graduated from the City University London with a Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science.

Azli Munani was appointed the CEO / Executive Secretary at the Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) since August 2010. He is administering the association with the main objective of promoting a sound Takaful and Retakaful operations and business conducts in Malaysia in co-operation and consultation with Bank Negara Malaysia and other stakeholders. He is a graduate of Leeds Beckett University, United Kingdom (previously known as Leeds Metropolitan University) in Accounting and Finance in 1996 and Master of Business Administration from Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2015. He is a certified Islamic Financial Planner (IFP) from Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM) and the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM).
